NICOSIA - Police are continuing their investigation in connection with the theft of the remains of former President Tassos Papadopoulos, after yesterday’s three-hour fruitless interrogation of Antonis Prokopiou Kitas, serving life imprisonment and alleged to be the mastermind of the crime.
According to CyBC radio, Kitas is denying any involvement in the case. Police investigators will interrogate his brother Mamas Prokopiou, who was remanded for eight days on Wednesday. An Indian national, who confessed his implication in the crime, is also on remand.
The remains of the former President will be buried at 4pm on Thursday and a blessing will take place.
