NICOSIA - President Demetris Christofias has expressed relief and satisfaction following the discovery of the remains of the former president Tassos Papadopoulos.
Speaking before he departed to Athens to inaugurate the Michalis Kakoyiannis Foundation with Greek President Carolos Papoulias, Christofias said he had contacted the former president’s wife Fotini and expressed his sympathy to her and her family.

Speaking at a press conference at her home in Strakka, Fotini Papadopoulou said peace had been restored in family following months of agony.

She thanked the police for their hard work and expressed her wish that the culprits would soon be brought to justice.
