NICOSIA - The National Council, the top advisory body to the President, has discussed recent developments in the ongoing UN-led negotiations and Turkey’s European Union accession course, Government Spokesman Stephanos Stephanou said.Speaking after a four-hour long meeting, chaired by President Demetris Christofias, the Spokesman said that Council members talked about the property issue, which is part of the peace talks.The Council, Stephanou said, will meet again on December 4.“President Christofias briefed the Council about the negotiations and a constructive discussion followed. It was agreed to continue to discussion on the property issue at the level of a sub-committee, set up under the presidential adviser, where the parties can table their positions and views,” the Spokesman added.Replying to questions, he explained that there has not been any negotiation on the property issue since properties will be classified into different categories.(CNA)
