NICOSIA---UN special envoy Alexander Downer described today’s meeting on the thorny issue of property between President Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat as “a good one”. He also said the two leaders will continue the talks on this chapter on Tuesday, after another preparatory meeting by their chief aides on Monday. Today’s UN-brokered meeting was the 51st within the framework of negotiations for a Cyprus solution. Meanwhile, the Rebublic’s political leadership condemned today’s anniversary of the Unilateral Declaration of Independence of the pseudostate in the occupied north. Ruling Akel party is organising an anti-occupation rally this evening to protest the illegal declaration.
