NICOSIA- Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Antonis Paschalides today said that 2010 will be a difficult year for tourism.
Speaking at a news conference in Nicosia, Paschalides said that efforts were made to boost arrivals from various countries.
The issue of high airport charges at the new Larnaca Airport would be examined by his Ministry, and the aim was “a high level airport with the lowest possible cost”, he said, noting that he would be looking into the matter in collaboration with the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO).
Pachalides said that efforts were also being made to make it easier for travelers to visit Cyprus by solving the problem of visas and flight connections, as well as hotels of various standards and prices.
