NICOSIA- President Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat completed their 38th face- to -face meeting, as part of the UN-led negotiations to solve the Cyprus problem and reunify the island.

The two leaders further discussed the issue of security and progress made on the opening Limnitis crossing. They also touched upon issues concerning citizenship, aliens, immigration and the illegal Turkish settlers.

Asked to comment about the statements of Turkish Cypriot aide Ozdil Nami on all the settlers remaining on the island, Christofias said his position was critical of them.

Christofias and Talat will meet again, next Thursday, July 30. They have been engaged in direct negotiations since September last year.
