NICOSIA - About 10% of jobs in the Civil Service, local authorities and semi-government organisations will be given to disabled persons, according to new measures by the government to improve the quality of life of the disabled and give them equal chances in the labour market,
The Labour Ministry is promoting a bill providing for the change that will make Cyprus number one country in the employment of disabled persons.
Labour Minister Soritourra Charalambous expressed the government’s commitment to bring changes that will improve the quality of life of disabled persons who make up a a large group of the population.
