NICOSIA - Protesting police officers called for the resignation of the force’s chief Saturday during a demo outside the Presidential palace.
The action was in protest against the police leadership’s plans to impose eight-hour working shifts within the force and disciplinary measures launched against one of its members.
They suggested the Chief of Police buy a pair of slippers and go home.
There was also a warning that the next protest would be outside the police HQ.
