Blistering summers and rainy winters mean that outdoor family fun is not always an option but there are some very entertaining alternatives available. State-of-the-art bowling alleys have multiplied recently, attracting dedicated teams as well as occasional visitors of all ages. Whatever the level of expertise, bowlers are sure to enjoy the experience.

Kykko Bowling Centre, Nicosia

 

Cyprus’ first venue of its kind, Kykko Bowling Centre recently re-fitted its 16 lanes with the latest technology including facilities for young bowlers. Its restaurant was also recently updated and has HACCP standards offering a wide range of snacks and full meals.

The venue is popular for league games, cooperating well with other bowling centres around the island, and offers special packages for corporate outings and birthday parties. Plenty of parking is available.

The per game price is €5 on Fridays, weekends and public holidays and €4.50 during the week. Kykko Bowling Centre is open from 2pm-1am during the week and 1pm-1am on weekends.

Galactica Bowling Centre, Limassol

 

A bowling centre that also offers a host of other entertainment from a luna park and play areas to an internet café. Galactica also produces its own ice-cream made at the on-premises patisseries.

Galactica Bowling Centre has 24 lanes and includes bumpers making playing easier and more enjoyable for the younger members of the family. All types of meals are available on site from sandwiches to steak-dinners. Prices for games start at €3 rising to €4.50 per game depending on the time. Birthday parties and other events are a specialty and the venue is open from 10am “until the last customer goes home.”

Space Bowling Centre, Limassol

 

Limassol’s Space Bowling Centre has 16 lanes and includes facilities for children’s bowling. While family packages are available, the ordinary price per game is €4 for adults and €3 for children. The venue is open from 10am-2am and is popular for birthday parties catering for all ages as well as corporate and other events. Snacks and light meals are available. There is plenty of parking available and access for people with mobility difficulties.

K Max Bowling Centre, Larnaca

 

The largest bowling venue in Cyprus, K Max Bowling has 20 state of the art AMF bowling lanes and bumpers are available for children.

There are also special packages available for families, groups and professional bowlers while the price per game is €5.10 for adults and €3.50 for children.

There is a snack bar serving delicious snacks and full meals, ample free parking space and facilities for people with special needs.

K Max also offers special packages for events including Glo Bowl teen parties, charity events, team building events and group bookings. Various leagues and tournaments also take place there. The venue is open during the week from 4pm and from 11am on the weekend, staying open till late every day. It also features a pro-shop, in-house coach and electronic games.

Rock 'N' Bowl Bowling Centre, Larnaca

 

Rock ‘N’ Bowl Bowling Centre is situated on the seafront in Larnaca’s tourist area. Its 15 lanes include bumpers making bowling easier for children. Younger children can enjoy an on-site playground - including a jumping castle - while teens can take a break from the lanes and visit the videogame arcade.

There is a €5.50 charge per game while a sandwich and soft drink from the venue’s cafeteria will set you back about €3. Special packages for groups and birthday parties are also available.

Rock ‘N’ Bowl Bowling Centre is open from 11am-midnight and has access for people with mobility difficulties.

Cockatoos Bowling Centre, Paphos

 

Set amongst the restaurants and bars of the tourist area in Paphos, Cockatoos is popular with visiting tourists and locals.

The regularly upgraded venue has ten lanes and has equipment making the sport easier for children and even boasts a daily bowling academy for beginners.

The fee per game is €4 during the day and €5 at night with a 20 per cent discount outside the tourist season, family packages and member discounts are also available.

The cafeteria provides snacks and light meals. Although the venue does not have its own parking, it is in close proximity to a 600-space public parking area. The bowling centre is open from 10am-2am.

Always in demand for birthday parties and other events, Cosmic Bowling Centre has 18 lanes and facilities for bowling for children. Open from 10am to midnight, the venue has a cafeteria providing snacks and big screen TVs for showing sports. There is a play area and bingo games are also organized regularly making it a great venue for the whole family. Prices per game range for €4-5 with special family packages also available.

Magic Bowl Centre, Polis Chrysochous

 

At two years old Magic Bowl is the newest bowling centre in Cyprus and has a special summertime offer of €2.50 per game from 1-6pm every day. Later on in the evening, the price rises to €5.

With a snack bar, video games, play area and big screen TVs, the venue is a popular party destination. Bumpers make bowling easier for the little ones and there is ample parking.
